- Studied law at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg

- 1995: Worked at the Federal Agency for Special Tasks arising from Reunification in Halle (Saale) in the areas of shareholding management and insolvencies.
